Lucky B Bison Festival in Bryan, Texas
by Alfredo Alvarez Texana Editor AUSTIN - The Lucky B Bison Ranch, along with the Texas Bison Association, is hosting its annual Bison Festival this year on Saturday, April 26, 2003, in Bryan, Texas. Located in East Texas, this festival makes for a great day trip. This event features live music and dancing, a Native American Teepee Camp, chuckwagon camp featuring a bison meal, Bison Chili Cookoff, children's games, pony rides, an arts & crafts venue, bison burgers and cold drinks. Vistors can take a tour of the majestic bison herd of more than 75 animals. The Lucky B Bison Ranch is dedicated to the natural preservation of the North American Plains Bison. Lucky B Ranch bison are raised on grass, resulting in natural bison meat free of growth stimulents and chemicals. Festival admission is $10 for adults, and children under 16 are free. The event is a fundraiser for Native American Scholarships to Texas A&M University through the "Reagan V. Brown '43 Foundation Excellence Award."
