I picked up the Texas Cooking mail today, which included a review copy of this book. I opened it like all books we receive. I quickly look over the cover, and then I flip through the inside pages of the book.
I liked the title - Everything Texans Need To Know About The Other 49 States.
Upon opening the book I discovered pages and pages of - nothing! Never has Texas pride been communicated so elegantly. Writer Brook Syers actually explains on the last page that this is a "mockbook."
This makes a very distinctive and funny gift.
One last thought: if and when Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia are granted statehood, all the publishers need do is affix the following stamp to each bookcover:
Now completely updated to include Puerto Rico and/or the District of Columbia!
