The Stars franchise started in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars. In Minnesota, the North Stars had good
success, managing to reach the Stanley Cup Finals twice. However the team never won it.
The team then
moved to Dallas, Texas in 1993. They changed the name from the North Stars to the Stars. Five years
later the Stars won their first Stanley Cup after Brett Hull, Mike Madano, and The Eagle Ed Belfour
led the team over the Buffalo Sabers in the finals.
Currently, the Stars are one of the overlooked teams in the NHL. Madano leads a talented line-up which
boasts stars like Marty Turco, Bill Guerin, and Sergei Zubov. The speed, size, and experience of the
Stars makes them a favorite for the Western Conference Championship.
