Flights of Our Fathers Fly-In
Hosted by the British Flying Training School Museum, the Fly-In honors the WWII British pilots who trained at the School during WWII and the American officers and civilian staff who assisted with that training. This year, the theme will include a salute to veterans of all branches of the services, recognizing the honor and valor of our fallen service men and women, and including the ultimate sacrifice of five young men from the City of Terrell.
Activities include the flag-raising ceremony at 7:15 a.m., pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., vintage planes begin arriving at 9 a.m., lecture by Tom Killebrew, author of The Royal Air Force in Texas at 10 a.m., opening ceremonies at noon featuring local and state dignitaries and Marine Color Guard, and all-day happenings such as parachute jumps, hot air balloon, static plane demonstrations and plane rides. Natural Trail Challenge
Bull Creek Cowboy Church is sponsoring natural trail challenges at local ranches in Hunt County. Best 4 out of 6 rides for yearend high point. The trails will use natural logs, stumps, ranch gates, vine curtain, water crossings, bridges, etc., keeping the obstacles as natural as possible.
